Striped Marlin Stakes 2026

Please note there are two separate stakes running, one for heaviest striped marlin and one for most tagged and released striped marlin between 1 January and 30 April – both stakes have a prize of $1,000 for the winning angler.

Striped Marlin Stakes

This is a four month competition. Starts 1st of January and finishes 30th April at midnight. 

• You must be a full fishing financial member of our club and the entry is $50
• No Juniors can enter this Jackpot
• Must be paid before you go fishing
• Striped Marlin only
• Only striped marlin caught in the Bay of Islands Swordfish Club grid map area qualify for the Striped Marlin Stakes.
• They must be weighed on certified scales.
• All fish must be caught in accordance with BOISC fishing rules
• Fill out a weigh sheet and return it to the Club
• First prize is $1000 + 90% of pool and the club keeps 10%.
• Results will be updated above
• Entries by direct credit to Bay of Islands Swordfish Club 12-3102-0067824-09, name as reference and Striped MS or pay when you enter online.

Payment before you go fishing and you can enter at any time during this time as long as you have entered before catching the BIG one

Striped Marlin Tagging Stakes

This is completely separate to the Striped Marlin Stakes. This is a four month competition. Starts 1st of January and finishes 30th April at midnight. 

• You must be a full fishing financial member of our club and the entry is $50
• No Juniors can enter this Jackpot
• Must be paid before you go fishing
• Striped Marlin only
• Only striped marlin caught in the Bay of Islands Swordfish Club grid map area qualify for the Striped Marlin Tagging Stakes
• This is awarded to the most tagged striped marlin for the four month period
• All fish must be caught in accordance with BOISC fishing rules
• Fill out a weigh sheet and return it to the Club
• First prize is $1000 + 90% of pool and the club keeps 10%
• Results will be updated above
• Entries by direct credit to Bay of Islands Swordfish Club 12-3102-0067824-09, name as reference and Striped MS or pay when you enter online
